Are You Motivational Speaker Material?Alright, you think this sounds interesting, and you like to talk and even debate, so perhaps you'd like to give it a try. After all, if you are any good at all, the money is good, you get expense paid travel and you will meet many new and interesting people. So what do you need to know? What do you talk about? Do you have a hobby or a passion for some topic, these would be possibilities. Have you had any extreme life experiences? Are you good at convincing people that they can do something and build their self-esteem or have you spent your life in a particular occupation for which you have much knowledge? All of these are possible topic for you to explore. It is good to be somewhat extroverted to be a Public Speaker, but then I assume that anyone who is extremely introverted, would not be considering this option anyway. Humour is definitely an asset, especially if you are able to make fun of yourself, but this can be overdone, and a speech full of jokes is not necessarily a good speech. Motivational speakers do not need any special training or certification, and your chances of being hired depend mostly on the reputation you are able to build. There are also many companies out there that list speakers for hire. It is necessary to have a good command of the language you will be speaking in, and to be able to adapt you language to the type of audience you will be speaking to. |
